Community Work

American Contemporary Artist Leia Sands is actively involved in her communities in New York, Florida, and Tennessee. She continues to work with companies that have the communities' best interests at heart. In New York City Leia Sands works with GMC Entertainment (Grandmaster Caz), Hip Hop Blvd (Al Pizarro), Humanity Coalition (Kurtis Blow), and the NY Dept. of Education with Events set up throughout the 5 Boroughs to give back to the community and especially for the kids. Every year Leia attends Back to School Events to give away free school supplies to the kids & does Artist Panel Talks about Art & Hip Hop Music. In 2022 Leia Sands did Street Art on 29 walls for both elementary & middle schools in Brooklyn, NY. 

In her hometown of Fort Myers, Florida Leia has helped her community by giving back in ways of selling a Series of her Artwork to the public with 100% of all the sales going directly to buy food & then personally giving it out to people in need during Covid & also doing Hurricane Benefits after the last few storms that has hit the Fort Myers area over the last 5yrs to help rebuild her hometown area. 

In Coker Creek, TN Leia Sands is a founding Board Member of the Eastern Tennessee Arts Center (President- Alan Sibley) where we provide a space for people of all ages to create art, to meet other creatives, and to show their artwork in a gallery type environment.
